Mazatlan Mexico Fishing Report Feb12th2008
Hi everyone. To those it may concern.
Today Captain Rigo of the Valeria boat went bottom fishing with Erik Curtis and his two sons Colton and Garret, from Coeurd'Alene Idaho, Went as far as to Marmol area and caught around 20 rock fish with shrimp. Grouper mostly, 5 lbs average size.
Trolling diving lures on their way back caught 3 good size Jack Crevalle, 10 lbs average size, that they let go free. Jack are very good fish to catch but not too good to eat, We call them "Toro" (Bull) because they are very strong and agressive. Any way... They had a great time.
Captain Gabriel of the Hortencia boat went deep sea fishing with Jhon Gregule and Lou Vogl from Michigan. and got some Bonita and caught a 40 lbs Mako Shark, with bait (mullet). Not the very best day but it is a good start for 2008 since January was one of the worst months ever due the terrible weather.
See you tomorrow
