After a slow first week of the month. Things really started picking up the water is just starting to warm. Many boats set out bouys to attract Mahi Mahi. The smaller schoolies, Mahi Mahi ranging from 4 to12 lbs were gathering around the bouys in droves with some bigger fish mixed in. The sailfish were there to but with the abundance of food, small ballyoo, and sardines. The sails were a little more hit or miss. One trip to the bouy in the morning we saw well over 100 Mahi Mahi slashing bait fish around the buoys. Most boats coming in with 20 to 40 each.We would be cranking in one and 20 to 30 more fish following it. Having multiple hook ups to no effort at all.Our first day brang in 35 Mahi Mahi. Our second landed 20 and 2 sails,we saw 12 to 15 other sails jumping and feeding heavy. The fishing is finally stating to heat up!
