The weather called for great seas (no wind no waves ) so we headed out of yankeetown 6am went out 30 miles nothing but small grouper and more grunts than any "normal" person would want to catch. We went out another 8-9 miles to another place we know that holds grouper once again all short grouper and one spanish mackerel. We picked up for the third time went out to 60 feet of water and caught a bunch of sharks on the cut bait and live grunts so we switched to buck tail jigs and vertical jigs and the action was much better. We caught our two keeper red grouper several throw backs but they were much bigger. We also caught a few more spanish macs, 3 small hog fish 2 keepers, about 6 porgies, and of course grunts. I guess the grouper are still out real deep.
