    Default Sierpe Costa Rica

There are a ton of Mahimahi just before Cano Isaland. With long weed lines and the weather being great for this time of year the fishing has been great. Good numbers of Marlin and Sails have been showing up. Inshore we have been catching Rooster and Snapper throwing plugs. We also fished the Rio Sierpe this week and caught a few nice sea bass in the 25 pound range.

Fish report week ending Sunday Nov 16. Hi people, sorry a little late with the report but we have been busy this week. The dorado are still running very strong with yellowfin in mix sizes still being caught. The sails and marlin are starting to show up strong. We released 2 blacks in the upper 300lbs this week and we been catching 1 to 2 sails per trip. We did not fish the river this week but one of the ticos in a canoe caught what had to be 50lbs snook on a yoyo. He was using live shrimp. If anyone has any questions please feel free to write.

Fish report weekending November 23. The weather has been great with a few showers late afternoon to cool things off. The fishing has been very steady with good numbers of sails and marlin showing up. The mahimahi bite has been very strong with great tree and weed lines to fish. Last tuesday we caught 15 with sizes ranging 15 to 20lbs. This is the time of year we look for the big bulls but so far this year they have eluded us the biggest one so far being 43 lbs. We took a couple from Connecticut out that only wanted to fish for rooster with poppers if you never fished this way you don't know what your missing we hooked into a school and we never stoped we caught well over 30 fish that day sizes in the 10 to 15 lbs range. With two in the 35 to 40 lbs range. The Rio Sierpe river was slow with only a few small snook and snapper. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Fish report week ending December 14. We had a fast start this week with great fishing we start trolling around 25 miles out when we had a double hookup with 2 sails after only around 5 minutes of fishing. We also found a nice floating tree which yield 5 nice Mahimahi. The fishing just seem to geat better and better then fell flat for the weekend with only one Mahimahi. We had a full moon this week which had alot to do with this. This week I really hoping will be a great week as were starting to get in the dry season and the blue water is really starting to easy to find.
    Well till next time

What can I say we have had really great start to the 2009 season with 26 sails caught so far. The dorado fishing has also been very strong with 4 to 5 per day. Inshore has been very steady with great rooster and snapper fishing. The marlin and tune bite has slowed a bit but I am hoping this will change soon as we have some clients coming this week that only want marlin and we will work hard for the next couple days trying to locate and find some fish as I know there out there. We also have been fishing the Rio Sierpe and the snook bite has been great using Rapalas or live shrimp. The next few weeks should be exciting as the fishing should only get better as we are really only started are season here. We also have drop our prices to reflect the gas price I will update our website in the next few days. I will post some pics soon. Can some please tell me how post a video on this forum as I have some of the sails we caught this week.
Until next time hope you all have great year.

We have had great year so far and the fishing seems to get better and better. We had a four day fishing trip this past week offshore were we hook and released each day a blue and black marlin along with multiple sails. The dorado and tuna bite is also very strong. With each day we caught are share of both. The inshore reports from other boats are rooster and snapper bite is real strong with one boat bring in 8 huge snapper with two in the 50lbs range needless to say we have been very busy as of late but I will try to post every monday when possible.

    Fish report weekending Febuary 1st
Wow what a great January we have had. One of the local fisherman says that it was best bite he has seen in like 20yrs and thats saying alot since the fishing here is always good. The marlin bite has been strong here we have been averaging 2 per trip with as many as 5 in one day. The sail bite is only limited with the amount of ballyhoo we have we had one day that we hooked and released 14 and we have raised as many as 30 in one day. The tuna and dorado bite has been as strong with most days like a scene out of blue planet with birds and dolphin chasing bait for miles. In shore we have nothing to report as we have only been fishing offshore but if I here anything I will report. Also seen three awesome sights that I will never forget 1st was while trolling I saw 8ft thresher shark jump clear out of the water chasing bait my mate says he has seen this many times but for me was my first but to see the colors of this fish was great. 2nd we had a 70yr old man that has always want to catch sails he said he was unlucky that in last 20yrs he had tried more than a dozen times but had no luck well I am happy to report we got him three. To see his smile was worth everything to me he got all choked up and said he always wanted to fish with his son and catch some sails. Third was while my fisherman were fighting a marlin a boat came by my port side around 100ft they had some teaser in the water when I saw a sail come out of the water the mate reeled the teaser in while the fisherman pitch the bait back there was a pause and then all hell broke loose the sail jumped and starting ripe out line. This was great to watch and it was not even my boat I only get to view from the back of our boat not from the side like that it was just great to watch what we do come together like that.

Default Fish report weekending Febuary 15th

    Hi people,
hate to sound like a broken record but our area has the strongest bite in the country for the last 2 months I have seen boats from Los suenos, Quepos, Golfito and after reading other threads and other forums I would say they agree. We have had great few weeks of sailfishing with most days releasing in the high teens. Marlin are also strong we have been averaging in last two weeks 3 per trip. Tuna and Dorado still remain strong also. We also fished one day this past week inshore for half day around the rocks and caught 8 snapper and 2 rooster. People we have some great dates still not taken next month we also have bought another boat so if anyone is intrested shoot us an email or call I would be happy to answer any questions.

    Fish report weekending March 1st.
Hello everyone sorry for the delay but we have been very busy these last 2 weeks. The fishing has remained good but it has slowed a bit from the super strong bite that we were having the last 3 months. Sailfish have remained strong but the big disappointment is the marlin tuna bite these past few weeks. We had 2 big commercial tuna boats in the area for three days and the fishing really went soft until these last 4 days. Amazing that 2 boats like that could have such a drastic effect so fast one day we could do no wrong the next only 2 sails. The problem is Costa Rica has no tuna boats so some other country is taking all the tuna and what ever else is in there nets. The last four days however has been getting better so things seem to be getting back to normal. I hate to report things like this but I felt people should know and maybe make them aware of stuff that goes on. If anyone knows what country the tuna boats belong to could someone let me know. I hope the next report will be much different with a much better ending.
    Till next time
