Had two trips over the holiday, so far. Monday I was out with Larry and Sean Sullivan, on vacation from NJ. We had a blast catching ladyfish and trout on light tackle in Northern Sarasota Bay. Larry even was able to get some fly casting instruction and improved leaps and bounds in a matter of 90 minutes.

Today I got out on a fun trip to Ruskin with a buddy of mine, Steven Welcome. We caught lots of trout and small redfish on DOA CAL shadtails (Golden Bream). Steven got up on the pole towards the end of the day, after the tide came in, so I can break in the Orvis Helios. Needless to say it got broke in. Had a nice snook break me off and landed a nice 21" redfish. We sight casted dozens of both along a 300 yard shoreline. They were VERY SPOOKY. The fly of choice was a tan/green crab pattern.
