Fly fishing for snook along Tampa Bay's eastern shoreline is a great way to get broken in on the long rod. Snook up to 34" are holding on the white sand along mangrove shorelines. EP Everglades Special and EP Pinfish are great patterns to throw in front of these snook. Clear floating fly line (www.monic.com) and fluorocarbon tippets will allow you to cast your fly closer to these fish and get their attention. Plus you can use shorter leaders, get better fly turnover and get multiple shots at individual fish. 8 and 9 weight rods will easily get the job done.

Beach snook are still red hot along the beaches of Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key. Fly fishing is still the choice of tackle to get these breeding fish to take a coitus break and have a snack. Small white baitfish flies and EP Mullets will get hit with regularity.
