Hello,
I am moving down to southeast Florida next year. I want to get into fishing in the region the right way. I have always read that the best way for a beginner to learn and get to know people was to put in some elbow grease and work for the tournaments as a volunteer observer.
How do I get to be an observer? Who do I contact? What classes do I take?
Any help appreciated,
finatic
Here's info for the IGFA:

Wonderful.
Thank you,
Finatic
I did the observer thing for the Mayors Cup in Miami and learned quit a bit about sailfishing just by watching what the crew did. I think a lot of the tourneys are going away from having observers on the boats and going to video. Sailfish season is just starting up so keep your eye out and good luck.
