Headed out real early Tuesday morning looking for some tailing reds. Got on the water around 5am to have an easy paddle to a nice flat. The moon was bright and shed some light for us.
A buddy and I got a chance to get some new lures by FishBites. We put them on some weedless hooks and chased some tails. I couldnt be on the water long and started my paddle back at 830 and was really impatient. I didnt get any hook ups with reds buy my buddy did at 22" and a 33" tailer. He was about 300 yards away so didnt get any pictures besides the one he sent to me via phone and it hanging off both sides of the yak. The tails were everywhere but they were moving around alot. Tried the fly rod with no luck.
As the sun kept coming up we saw schools of trout busting up bait so I decided to see how the soft plastic held up to some fangs. Caught numerous trout on the same lure. Buddy said he caught 15 on same lure. Lures cast pretty far when using an unweighted hook.
The trout were all around this size with some over and some under.
