A few blacks before they close in January

I got a call from my Godson Alex on Tuesday telling me he wanted to head down to the upper Keys and do some bottom fishing. Specifically, grab a few blacks before the close the season. Chuck called me later in the week and told me he had heard the wahoo bite was hot further north. I was debating what do do until I got home on Friday afternoon and realized I wasn't set-up for wahoo so the decision was easy

Alex got to the house, we loaded the boat and the drive down was ezpz but good Lord when are they going to finish that 18 mile strech!!!

Anyways, we launch the boat and head out. After roughing the sloppy conditions, we arrived at out first spot and drop the hook in 130...' set out the lines and within 10min we land a beautiful black, weighing in at 24 lbs. We had to hop around a bit but the day ended well with another black at 17 lbs, 2 muttons and a small dog snapper.

It was a great day on the water with my Godson and I look forwad to the next! :toast:

I don't see any speedos, but I see some Scooby Doo boxers. Tell him to pull his pants up! Nice grouper though.
