Default Big cobia smackdown, and other welcome guests

110 feet out of Ponce 12/14/2009

Fished 110 feet out of Ponce Sunday, on a cattle boat, hit the inlet at 0730 and was greeted by 9-12 foot swells at the mouth...it was sick, the further out we went the farther apart they got. The entire morning was solid 8+ but a 12 second period made it doable. Slow ride out, no live bait just sardines. First stop was ARS up to 12 pounds with several 10+ muttons coming in as well. Second spot was all big fish and lots of grunting and freight trains, I managed 1 33 pound black belly, all the break offs shut down the bite. 3rd and final spot....1 fat ARS came up with no less than 30 cobia in the 20-50+ range in tow, we limited out quickly on fat cobia and added a few mangos to end the day.

    Final tally:
    1 gag
    3 mangos
    6 ARS
    6 nice cobias
    7 mutton
Tight lines and catch 'em up before January 4th fellas.

I was in Ft. Pierce and it was big, maybe not that big but the waves where breaking on the jetty and shooting water 20 foot high, but maybe rlovas knows something we don't (douche). Nice catch anyways.

Nice job chunkn...dont let the dweebs get to you, or they won.

Get some thicker skin to go along with those massive balls you need to go out in seas like that.
