Just finished cleaning the boats and hung 'em in the garage. Spent Christmas camping at Ft Desoto. Pretty crappy camping/yakking/fishing weather. Still a great way to spend the holiday.
well here's a reply -- the web editor knows of my interest in yak fishing! i love pretty much any fishing by any method anywhere anytime -- but have to confess nothing beats doing it on my own in a kayak... i guess i'm becoming my own cliche after editorial last jul/aug issue saying all that . but i sure as hell mean it. big prob: no time. this job, while i love it, is perilously close to 7/7 much of the time. i AM hoping to get away to fish for reds over in the IRL (indian river lagoon) one day this week, though!
one project for some day, some time, down the line, i'd love to pursue, btw: a feature on fishing resorts, near and far, that have kayaks outfitted for fishing. point being, for ex., i've done panama and i love panama and the fishing's fantastic. but for a return trip, i'd give my left... earlobe... to spend a few days fishing inshore as well as hannibal or the islands from a kayak.... seems like there'd be lots of interest in this with so much growing interest in yak fishing generally, but i dunno... any thoughts?
gotta run now and get back to work -- i'm incentified (forecast of 70 degrees on wed is calling to me....)
I had a 25' Mako cc and sold it before I joined the Navy, and I don't think I'd buy another one unless I strike it rich! I'll stick to fishin plastic, it's soooo much cheaper!
