Herding up the sheep in Crystal River

After lunch I set up a last minute trip with Bill and Todd to see if we could find a few sheepshead. Even though we got a late start we still took the time to catch some small crabs before we left since it was low tide. I'm glad we got the crabs because we caught over 20 sheepshead on the crabs with several double headers but only caught 3 on the shrimp we bought. This is the best time of year for the sheepshead but they seem to be a little picky and mainly want crabs. As soon as we ran out of crabs they completely shut down. The best part about having the shrimp was that we caught 8-9 trout with 5 being keepers, all on shrimp. This was the last day to keep trout so the trout were a nice bonus.
