On Monday April 5th I got out to the Jeff Steel Reef, 17 Miles at 283 degrees from Stump Pass. Caught a few undersized Grouper, Sand Perch that are very good eathing if you catch enough of them. Water Temp was up to 71 degrees, but no bait fish in the very clear water. Tried 4 different spots on and around the Reef without much action. Other boats in the area came up empty also. Wonderful day on the water, but no real keepers for the grill.
