Default Big fish in the middle grounds 5-20

I hooked up with my buddy Jeff Strane, Captain Travis Palladeno, and super J to do some big fish diggin' in the middle grounds. For those of you who have heard of Captain Travis Palladeno of Live wire fishing charters you know he is the man when it comes to middle grounds fishing. After a 3 hour ride on the 45 foot phantom on glass calm seas we got to the 1st spot in 300 feet and instantly everyone was hooked up. The action continued all day. The only problem was that after just 30 minutes or so the entire boat had its aggregate grouper limit. So we skipped to a few wrecks and got some AJs for fun and also ran into some big blackfin tuna that couldn't resist the big Yo-Zuri Sashimi bull poppers. Most of the grouper and snapper were caught on the hookher arrow jigs, flutter jigs, and the no alibi alien jigs. We also got some on the electric reels once we got tired of jigging and reeling the fish up 300 feet. Its a good thing Jeff (The owner of team marine USA) was on board because we had to release a ton of grouper and snapper and his venting tools came in very handy plus he loves venting the fish so we would just catch them and slide them to Jeff to vent and release. I had a fantastic time on the water and it was nice to see Captain Travis and his 1st mate Super J take the day off and reel a few up. Since we had all the fish we could keep and we were all a bit whooped from reeling in all the fish we headed in early and got back to the dock 2 hours before dark. Thanks Jeff for dehooking and venting our fish; that was a big help. If anyone is looking for the middle grounds trip of a lifetime check out http://www.livewirefishingcharters.com/ you'll be glad you did. 50+ pound gags are common, along with 30+ pound red snapper, big warsaw grouper, tuna, dolphin, wahoo, sailfish, and more.

1st drop all 4 of us hooked up and out of the 4 we got two 40+ pound rustys

    Jeff keeping busy

The #1 jig of the day for grouper and snapper was the big 9oz arrow jig by hookher tackle
