Took a jaunt out of ponce inlet with my good friends John and Mike to a secret ledge we have in 65 feet of water, we stopped to catch our bait in 50 feet of water and loaded the livewell with hardtails, sardines and pinfish, what a stellar way to start the trip! We chugged out at 35 knots to "the spot" anchored up and on the first drop Mike gets a mango, a nice 7 pounder! Spirits are high and expectations large..Game On! I broke out my mango stick and put them boys in time out baby! John got a beast of 12 pounds and I matched him 3 minutes later...then it was time for the fishing clinic, I bailed 4 in a row from 12-14 pounds, then the anchor broke freeGuess what..we landed on the downslope of the ledge and the big grouper bite was on! We landed 3 to 31 pounds and one red grouper just legal, at that point is was almost 3 and time to go......I tossed about 50 frozen pogies in the water and up pops about a 4,000 pound tiger shark! I put a wire rig on my 100 pound outfit and tossed him a sliced up, still wiggling grunt..he ate it, I hooked him, I handed the rod to my young buddy John! 45 minutes later the beast surfaced
we snapped a few pics and cut the leader. We arrived at the ramp at 6 after an 18 mile cruise at 40 knots. Stowed the gear and made our way home..what a day! I will have to hunt for the pics of the total catch, I think MIke has them but here are my two biggest mangrove snapper..the one on top is only 2 pounds shy of the world record!
Here's a Tiger shark picture for Seth, I know he'll ask for it.

Nice work there NE, well done.
It's been years since I've been out and had a banner day like that. It's a good felling, huh?
The only people that tell you it can't be done are the people who haven't done it themselves.
