Sanibel - Non Report

Just a general question, going to Sanibel for a week , will arrive Sept 11th and was wondering what to expect to find along the beaches as well as around Blind pass and maybe along the Causeway going to Sanibel. Will be fly fishing and any suggestions will be appreciated.

Same question, going end of March into April for another Sanibel trip, will have Camera this time with some good batteries, hope to post some pics this time.

I was there last year during March/Apr. I just did some fly fishing from shore when family plans allowed and ended up with some ladyfish. Turns out the day before me some guys did well on snook in the surf. I'm heading down the first week in May this year, maybe chase a tarpon...

I think things are just starting to pick up, some Snook have been sighted on along the Beach and around the fish pier.

I managed a fair number if Ladyfish during the week and a few Trout along the beach at the lighthouse and along the causeway.

Fished Blind Pass and got some Ladyfish, Trout and a couple of Reds. The Reds were very pretty, almost Silver in color.

Blind Pass is starting to form a major sand bar about one hundred yards down from the bridge that extends out at about a 45 degree angle and goes out at least 100 yards if not more. In less than a year this place will be closed again in my opinion, but the rumor is they are going to dredge again to keep it open.

Oh yea, did have one nice Tarpon roll right in front of me in the channel !

Good stuff- thanks for the report. I am hoping the snook show in force before I get there. Looks like I will rent a boat for a day to fish with my dad- any suggestions on where to go? Where is blind pass? Did you fish the gulf side or parking lot side of the lighthouse?
