Epic Monster Yellowfin Tuna bite going off out of Venice, LA right now

If there is any way you can swing it, you need to get yourself to Venice, LA RIGHT NOW. The BIG, BIG Yellowfin Tuna are in shallow on the shrimp boats and the biste is going off!!! I just returned from 6 days down there and in my 12 years fishing the area, I've never seenthe bite so good. 200 pound fish are hitting the dock each day with some days as many as 4 or 5 coming in. The fish are on the shrimp boats in pretty shallow so it's a quick run to the fish. Fished oneday with a buddy who has his boat over in Venice from Jupiter, FL. We had several opportunities and managed to put a 218 pound Yellow in the box along with some smaller fish.

Over the next few days Ifished with my good buddies from The Mexican Gulf Fishing Company (Capt. Kevin Beach & Capt. Scott Sullivan). The bite was simply INSANE. At times we were covered up by fish in the 130 - 200lb+ range. They ate dead bait, live bait, poppers, swimbaits and butterfly jigs. When the dust settled, we caught several over 100 pounds with a few pushing 200lbs. Not to mention the giants we lost in the shrimpers cables, break offs and tail wraps.

At times we were hand feeding these big fish on top as they cruised by with their sickle fins cutting the surface. I would have stayed another week if I didn't have so much to do back at the office.

If you ever wanted a good shot at a 200 pound yellowfin, now is the time and Venice, Louisiana is the place with the boys from The Mexican Gulf Fishing Company. Those Freeman 33' Cats are the bomb!

They were LOVING this Sebile Stick Shadd lure. Just could not get anough of it. Watching a 190lb+ Yellowfin explode on one less than 20' from the boat nearly gave me a heart attack.


Hit a rig in 45' one afternoon and scored 4 ofthese monster bulls onthe butterfly flat sided jig (all released).
