I had a customer coming into town who hires me every year so that him and his brother can go snook fishing. Well with the winter we had last year I have been concentrating on redfish so I went out and scouted around for a full day and found monster snook to a school of healthy juveniles( about a school of 60 around 16 inches long) that was great to see. So I fished a little but mainly scouted but still got 6 snook 2 reds and a few trout all released. I also saw a red float zoom past me so grabbed the rod with a gold spoon on it and trolled within casting distance and nailed the float and brought in a small red and released him from the cajun thunder and off he went.

So I was set for my snook trip with the brothers and one of their friends.
I picked up Bob, Bruce and their friend Jeff 2 days later with a livewell full of scaled sardines and pinfish.

Well every year Bob has the hot hand and catches the first fish which is always a trout and he did it again this year so we all laughed about it. It doesn't matter where we are fishing he will find a trout first.

Bob had the hot hand and his third fish was a beautiful large snook then Bruce gets a few trout and a snook while Jeff has missed a few and after a little while I told him not to worry that the guy who is not getting the quantity usually catches the best fish of the day it is fish karma.

Bob

Bruce

Jeff gets a few trout but no snook yet and I make a move.
We get a few more snook and Bruce hooks a 30 plus snook that comes to the top of the water and unfortunately pulls the bait out of the snooks mouth. Then Jeff gets a taker under the mangroves but spits the bait out on him so I tell him that's one step closer and his next step is catching one.

Well it happened for him and I was holding my breath all the way to the boat hoping for him it would stay on and it did.
Then shortly after that Jeff and Bob both get hooked up at the same time and they did the doubles dance as not to cut each other off and high fives went around for the double.

Bruce caught a few more snook and then
Bob with the hot hand came back with another nice snook

Then it happened the guy with the slow bite latches into a big boy and right away I could tell it was a red.
After a few minutes we saw the size of the flash and I couldn't wait for him to catch this red. It put up a great fight while I did some coaching and there it was the best fish of the day a 33 inch red and Jeff was ecstatic and fish karma has come through again!!

Here is Jeff with his prize

We also got a surprise large blue fish and a couple of flounder.
Everyone slammed on the boat and it just was a another great day on the water.
