Had plans on going fishing with a buddy on feb.13,11. The winds where 10 to 15, the temp. was a low of 46 and high of 65. Because of the high winds out of the NE it was keeping the tide from coming into matlacha. Everything was pointing to a bad day of fishing and a good day sitting at the bar. We went fishing anyway and killed it. The trout fishing in this area was great. We got lucky and found a flat that was 4-6 ft. even with the extreme low tide. We even caught some redfish. Suprised about the reds because the temp got real low. We only fished for 2 1/2 hours because his genoe was being pushed around by the winds. For thoughs of you that know the matlacha area we fished north of the power lines and on the east side of the channel.
