The fishing has been outstanding this past week to say the least. One contributing factor to the success everyone is having is the weather. Once again this year March has been the more favorable month to fish over February and January. It seems as though Spring has come early again this year. Every year there seems to be one species of fish that are unbelievably more abundant than the rest or what you might call a “Freak” year for that particular species. Well this year it is Yellow Fin Tuna. In 2007 it was Mahi-Mahi, In 2008 it was Wahoo, In 2009 it was Triple-Tail. Most of the tuna have been in the 30-50 lb. range with a few in the 80-100lb. plus category. The bigger fish are out there but just not in the numbers the smaller fish are. Location seems to be determining the size factor. The fishing right now is very good which you will see from the pics. April should be just as good a month as March. I would not be surprised if the Mahi Mahi show up early this year with the warm temps. we started having early. We’ve got available boats ready to fish.
