Tofino Fishing Is On FIRE!!! Big Salmon & Halibut

The 2011 season is of FIRE up here, and just when we thought the fishing we enjoyed last year couldn't get any better!!!

The big halibut are already on the rockpiles and chewing with reckless abandon out there. The last few days have produced limits up to 96 pounds with a bunch of 40 - 80 pounders thrown in the mix. We lost an estimated 150#er just before i could throw the harpoon two days ago as the hook pulled just out of reach.

Chinook (king) salmon are everywhere out there and limits are not hard to find. All in all, it's been one hell of a start to this season!!!!

Big run of new fish just moved in yesterday with some much larger average sized fish showing. Nothing under 20#'s in the box yesterday on salmon, it was all you wanted out there and they are getting shallower!!! Limited out on hali's up to 87#'s as well. Morning off today, but can't wait to get out there this afternoon!!!
