I got a call last week, on the 29th of June to be exact. Int he conversation with one of the IT specialists, I was told 400 times that they were sorry for the way this upgrade has gone. Now, 9 days after I was told "this is the highest priority for the IT Developers at Bonnier and we have the entire IT team working on the fixes for this upgrade", the site still runs like a 95 year old woman. Things still don't work (it took me 7 hits of the refresh button, just to get the page to load to post this observation).

I took my valuable time and made about 10 screenshots of various issues and at times, they still are not fixed. Sometimes they are, sometimes not.

I make a post and then have to actually go to my bookmark for the forum because there is no way to get back to the forum page.

Over 24 hours and not one reply to my observation that the font color is bad and the font size is too small.

It runs just as bad, if not worse than it did before the 30 minutes of apologies that I sat through last week.

Am I vocal? Heck yeah. Why? Because I see the value in this site and want it to be the best fishing site on the net. Why? Because I care. Dammit, lets get this thing fixed!

Folks, in case you haven't noticed, I don't hold back any punches. 100% of the time, I am the one that raises my hand and says that the emperor is wearing no clothes or there is a 1000 lb gorilla sitting in the corner.

Right now, I am raising my hand. Save the phone calls with apologies and empty promises and get MY website fixed. Yep, its mine, and every other member on here. Its our playground and going on 6 weeks now, it has been out of commission.

At some point, there has to be someone that stands up and says "Um, we need to go back to the way it was before this upgrade"... Someone develops this stuff at Vbulletin, right? How about someone call their "tech support" in India or Somalia or wherever the hell they are and get some help? I am big enough to say when I need a hand and I am never ashamed to ask. Others should put their manliness aside and raise their hand. Either that, or someone should be raising their hand while holding an axe.

Oh yeah, and to add to the issues list, I hit post thread above and it took almost 15 minutes for the baby poop grey background to load. Once it did, the rest of the stuff followed in 2011 speed.

I am just speechless!!!!! Another 91 login attempts since my last post a few weeks ago, I try to login and the site kicks me basck to a drupal site which says I am not authorized access yet I can change my profile and password. Then the site kicks me out again, I try to get a new password sent to me 7 days ago......still no email . I have been dedicated to this site for a few years now, my patience is being tested, what is the real deal here it guys? If I am having this many problems I can just imagine what the other forum mebers are going through! Please put my site..our website back to the old but highly functional world we knew and loved.

Amen NE, but I am getting the really distinct impression that the "powers to be" don't really give a s hit about the members on here. If I could vote with my wallet, I would. Oh, wait a mimute....... I MAY JUST START USING YOUTUBE AND MAKE VIDEO REPORTS....I HAVE THE NUMBER TWO MOST ACTIVE FORUM ON THIS ENTIRE SITE AND NOT ONE SIMPLE PM, EMAIL OR CALL OF CONCERN FROM ANY ADMIN MEMBER WHATSOEVER

I HAVE FISHED 47 DAYS SINCE MAY 5TH...AND I HAVE POSTED BUT 2 FISHING REPORTS.....HELL I DIDN'T EVEN TAKE MY VIDEO CAMERA TODAY AND WE CAUGHT A BLUE MARLIN,.... IT AIN'T WORTH THE TIME NOR TROUBLE.

We do apologize for the issues that you have been experiencing and would like to work with you individually to help resolve your problems. Also, about 30 minutes ago, we pushed an enhancement that we believe will help out with the performance issues that we have been experiencing with the forums. Again, we apologize for the problems that you have experienced and are dedicated to getting them resolved. We are also continuing to do further testing internally to help address the problems that have been reported on the Saltwater Fishing Community Forums.

While I say a lot of things, I am thankful for the site and all that the Bonnier folks do; I just get upset when I hear good people are running away from the site because of these continued issues.

Hello everyone,

We are glad that everything is working a lot better now for everyone. We know that there are still some tweaks that need to be made and we will continue to be working on those in the coming days and weeks. Please continue to let us know everything that you see that doesn't look or work correctly.

I did want to point out one of the big positive gains with the forums upgrade is the new search engine friendly forum links that appear on each forum thread. The friendly links help fishing enthusiast that may not already know about this forum find it as relevant forum threads are now showing up higher up in Google.

For example:

AE posted a forum post recently for a rod auction of Barta Benefit rods. If you do a google search for "Barta Benefit rods auction", the forum post is at the top of the Google search results:

Giving a good title for your forum post that are descriptive of the content contained within the post will help the forum threads show up in the search engines and grow the membership of the forum.
