Anybody fish around Apollo Beach. I fish the flats north of Simmons Park alot and have had some luck but not much on fly. any suggestions on flies to use. I've been using the Merkwan, gurgler, shiminnow and many others. Im new to the forum but am always asking for suggestions because i love to learn.
Welcome Jeff! I'm not from that area, but I'm sure someone will chime in with some tips.
The only people that tell you it can't be done are the people who haven't done it themselves.
Thanks glad to be a part of the forum. went fishing this morning and caught a nice snook on a white gurgler under a over hanging mangrove. other than that nothing else. real slow day
I live about 15 minutes from the ramp on 301. You are on the right track as far as flies. I like anything shrimpy, crabby, or sometimes a spoon fly will work.
Alright, ya i have been working the crab flies the pass couple weeks and have had some luck. the water has been pretty dirty lately, i dont know if that helps in a choice of fly
When the water is dirty, I tend to go to something darker in color and pushes some water or something that has a lot of flash and vibration (Dupree's Spoon Fly).
