Today my friend Luis and I wanted to target big tails and muttons or grouper, So we didn’t fish shallow or in spots, where we would catch our limit of regular size tails. Got to a bait spot first but the bait was not anywhere to be seen, got one 15” tail and left after being there close to an hour, then we went to another spot for the big tails and muttons, and the weather was cloudy all day and scattered showers weeds all around and very rough and windy. The bonitos and the Mack’s were a pest not letting us get to the tails, for a short time, I had the biggest tails behind the boat I’ve ever seen, I don’t think any were under 2 feet, we did get 10 flags and one 15” tail and also got a keeper mutton,1 dolphin that swam by and released an undersize cobia and got a keeper 34.5 in to the fork. Also lost some muttons stuck on a ledge and had a big mutton taken by a hammerhead shark that we later hooked also and gave us a terrible fight. Here are some picks going out for the next 2 days will post more reports, till then, Tight lines and Catchem up the fish are hungry. For more Google MiamiMuttonMan
