Merry Christmas from Isla Paridas! We had two groups fish days the 20th-23rd of last week. The Patcholok's first and then Widner's fished with me out at Isla Montuosa and Hannibal Bank. The day prior to the clients arrival Johhny and I were able to load up on 5 dozen Blue Runners and Steve was able to get the work done to the bathrooms here at the lodge. The weather was pretty nice. It seems that the dry season is here. We had some on and off showers to deal with but the liitle bit of wind was good for flying the kite. We did OK. Saw a bunch of sails and was able to raise a few but couldn't get many to eat. We hooked three and were only able to boat one. A nice mark at Hannibal produced a few AJ's and Dorados. The Bonitos were thick at both Hannibal and Montuosa with no problem putting them in the tubes. The only big problem to mention for the trip was the goddamn Porpoises! I have not seen it this bad ever. The "Buffaho malo" or porpoises eating our live baits was a constant problem. Flipper was eating Bonitos and Blue Runners! We would pick up the baits, run out a mile away, and they would follow us to try and rob our baits again. Tough to deal with. The only baits they wouldn't eat were the kite baits for some reason. Jumped a Big Black Marlin the last day on a live bonito. We couldn't get tight on him. He ran back tword the boat after his 20 second screaming run that had the 5/0 Tiagra with 80# Momoi down to the last part of the backing! Pretty exciting though. The Widner's will be back for three more days starting on the 5th so hopefully we'll get another chance!
