Today, I went to the famous big tail spot in around 90 feet , the anglers were, Gorge and Santiago. While on our way,The sounder broke so we couldn’t see where the fish were, we anchored in my numbers in 90 feet, after anchoring there a few previous clients showed up and I told them to anchor next to me and we all fished very well, with a nice north tide. I put the chum in and the tails got crazy and the guys started to get them, taking turns to fish a bottom bait also, but they had a few fish rocked and missed a few bights, while the tails kept coming in, at 12 noon we had 28 tails and had lost a few huge tails due to the size they took to long to bring up and the shark took a few.
We had only a few ballyhoo for bottom fishing, so I decided lets go shallow and catch some speedo and more ballyhoos, to later hit the deep to fish for the mighty muttons, with the fresh, mutton candy. We got to a bait spot and had the bait at boat side, So I got a dozen baits and hit the deep, sad to say the reef sharks invaded the area and we caught about 6 back to back and then we moved to another spot where we got 2 more big tails on the bottom baits and we didn’t get no more bights so we decided to move, then while pulling the anchor, the rope got chewed up by the winch and the rope broke, ending our trip at 2 pm. Then, we headed back to the dock, here are the pics, for more look up www.miamimuttonman.com from your home pc
