    Default North Cakalaka Coastal COBIA

    First day out this year.
    Target Fish Cobia, location Carteret County, NC coastal waters.
    Bait live poggies, depth 20 ft. With close proximity to the barrier island
    Off Beaufort.
    Results 58.8 lb Cobia, date April 30th, 2012
    Gotta love an April Cobia in 65 degree waters.
    More to come "come get ya sum" should run for six weeks or so.
    Bring your off shore rigs, this one was caught with the aid of a TLD25.
    I'll try to add a picture on Thursday.
    Really come find 17 to 25 ft. Of water, near an inlet, anchor up with fresh if not live bait and HANG on.
    Fish finder sliding sinker rigs with 8 oz sinkers, carbon leader, 7 to 9 ot hooks. 30 lb or better test line.
    Great hotel rates here on Bogue Banks untill school lets out. If ya love fishing and fresh seafood then your hangin at the Outer Banks. I weighed this pretty girl at EJW sporting goods in Morehead City, NC and
    Oh Ya it was a citation fish. 51 inches and 58 lb Pig? she is now on a diet. Mine!
    Please fish responsibly these fish get to 80 - 100 lbs Please release any under 33 inches and even then don't be tempted to keep a 17 lb fish as that is a baby a may be nearing it's first spawn. There are more out there and much bigger . Tight Lines!
