Default Weakfish, Fluke and Stripers, Barnegat Bay

We are still catching weakfish hot and heavy in Barnegat Bay. 1 to 3 pound fish on live grass shrimp using light tackle. There are a lot of other fish in the mix, as well, like sand sharks, hickory shad, spots, sand perch, fluke, bluefish, and blowfish. Yesterday (Friday) we had an 18 1/2" fluke on a shad dart tipped with shrimp. That one was caught vertical jigging the bottom. You can also cast the dart out in the slick and slow retrieve it for the weakfish. If you want to "**************** off" a weakfish, go slow and steady on the retrieve and they will crush it. In the afternoon, we headed out to shrimp the jetty and had an awesome couple of hours catch and releasing stripers, mostly 22 to 25 inch fish, though there were quite a few we couldn't turn with the light tackle and they just peel line over the jetty, never to return. We als had some blackfish on the shrimp, but none that measured 15 inches. Attached are some pics from yesterday (Fri) and Thursday.
