im up to 40kingfish for the year between power boat, kayak, and pier fishing..i have always loved toothy predatory fish..
i put on a 14inch ladyfish on my slide line that got chomped within a minute..i got the video going as it hit..it was a pretty good fight on my little shimano trevalla jigging rod and 40pound braid..
second king ate a threadfin and got 10 feet of air..it ran 50 yards out then turned strait at the pier when i set the hooks..it shot the pier i had over a 150yards of line out under the pier with the king still on..i some how managed to get it to come back through the pier on my 40pound braid..i couldn't see anything but my rod and the pier, but my buddy's were telling my it was a pretty epic fight on the other side of the pier.. probably gonna have to re spool my tyrnos 10, my braid got thrashed pretty good on the pier
