Looks like there may be hope for a come back of the grass. Hole In The Wall is starting to show a lot of dark bottom. Before it was a desert. The area I fish most is showing pockets of what I call muck Grass, the Reds love it. This week the bait was all over the area. No big Trout on the prowl. Picked up a short and a short slot Trout off of one big school. The main problem this week was the Jacks. They were all over and active. Quit counting at the 15 mark. My favorite spot produced a Rat and a 20 inch Red. Sad part was I could see a nice one back up under the Mangroves, couldn't coax her out. On the way out of the Honey Hole spotted a Red in the 30 plus inch range she was lying in the sun watching the show. Back up in the canal, caught a fat 18.5 inch Trout and two shorts. While motoring in I spooked a large Snook, definitely over slot. If you can find them, the Flat Rap 08 in Gold has been working, it's good for working skinny water. A great finesse bait. Change out the split rings and hooks. Nailed a 24 inch Trout on one last week.

Enjoy the holidays. If you are looking for a challenge next year check out the Florida Flats Fishing Association Tournament Circuit. Go to www.myflfa.com. Win, lose or draw, it is a fun experience.
