RedFly #7 saw the highest participation ever for a RedFly tournament. We had 15 teams total and the competition was fierce. 10 out of 15 teams weighed in fish. After speaking with many anglers and from my own experience, things didn't turn on until after the tide turned around noon on Saturday. My partner and I didn't see a redfish until 1:00 in the afternoon (Palma Sola Bay). In the end, only 2" separated 1st and 3rd place. Here are the final results:
Peterson/Dant - 48.75"
Kiburz/Costello - 47.50"
Chamberlain/Angelo - 46.75"
Altman/Smith - 45.50"
Brue/Birch - 44.00"
McLendon/Dean - 39.25"
Pskowski/December - 28.50"
Welbourn/Choe - 23.00"
Simonetti/Cole - 21.50"
Wilson/Hargiss - 19.50"
First place took home $450, second place took home $225, and 3rd place took home $75. Nick Angelo also received a $100 gift certificate from Flint Creek Outfitters for the most spots on one side of a redfish (3). Mike Pskowski won the big raffle prize...an Orvis Helios fly rod and Matt Scarborough won an Orvis Hydros Reel in the raffle. Big thanks to Flint Creek Outfitters, Orvis, Carbon Marine, and Rick Hess for helping sponsor the tournament with some great prizes.
Enjoy the pics!!

Jon,
Looks like you had a good tournament. Was it a release tournament??
Catch-photo-release...always!
