Port Canaveral Offshore 02-06-13

Despite being offshore nearly a hundred times a year, in 2012, only twice was I one of the designated anglers. With forecast
of sea's at 1-2 foot, and a charter group that was having scheduling issues, I decided to go out and take a couple freinds to
help out with the expenses. First stop was the 20 mile buoy. First pass put green in the box. Other boats were quickly appearing
but a second and third pass had us with more Mahi on ice. Not large, but definatly keepers. Had other boats not been there, it
would have made a great pitch rod experiance. As the bite slowed, we pointed the bow east and added a few more lines to the
spread.

Very few weeds were seen inside of 220' all day. Over 27 fathoms, as we turned south to run along it, we had a hookup. A nice
run and no jumps made us hopefull of seeing blue stripes one alongside the boat, and that we did with a Wahoo added to the Phins.

We continued working the ridgeline south and another hit resultd in a False Albicore. What they lack in food quality, they make up
for in fight Fortionatly we would get some good eating red meat later in the trip.

Continuing south another hookup, and another fish not taking to the air. Not that big, but still hard fighting, and what it lacked in
size, it made up for in taste...Blackfin Tuna. We worked the area but sadly it was a solo fish.

We made our way to a deeper wreck and found a submarine sized school of fish marking, so decided to add yet more variety to the
icebox. First couple drifts saw Almaco Jacks come in, then came Cuda's. Finally AJ's were the catch. Not monsters, but keepers and
pretty much worm free. We coud have played catch and release the rest of the day, but with a limit, we set lines ot and started
back west.

Cloudy conditions turned to a light rain, but the fish did not mind. Back over 27 fathomns, a double hookup came, with a nice sized
Mahi taking to the air, followed by a larger Bull. The cow was on a pretty light tackle setup, so I worked it, while another angler took
the Bull. Unfortionatly the Bull came unbuttoned, but the smaller fish did join the other fish on an invite home for dinner.

With a good variety of fish to clean, we headed to port. There were a few that got away, but all in all, with so little chances to actually fish
myself, it proved to be a fun day.

Had several viseo's from this trip...still getting used to haveing it so hopefully it will get better/ Audio is muffled with the waterproof
housing. This is verticle jigging for AJ's. We caught AJ's, Almaco Jacks and Cuda on this during this trip.
