This week the water was crystal clear. First stop, worked down a grass edge, spotted what looked like a bunch of rocks. Thought to myself there is nothing in the area except mud and grass. Then the school moved off. A school of Sheepshead. Worked to the edge of the island and saw a nice Trout in the sand, cast about 5 feet out in front of her. Nothing, she turned and moved back down to the main school. At least 8 big Trout and 4 Snook swimming together. Not spectacular fish, but most in the 5 pound range. They were just not in the mood. Moved back to my favorite canal, Nothing but Jacks, Bluefish and Ladyfish. Boated three Cocktails and a small slot Trout. Spotted another pair of good Trout, but no takers. On to a small canal that sees very little pressure. Missed a few hits and lost a short Trout. At the very end there is a small pocket, water was dirty. Hit a 24 1/2 inch Trout. Next cast a 20 inch Snook. Flat Rap had a pretty good workout.
The temperature swings are making the fishing hard. Saw a dead Turtle that the cold this past weekend probably got to.
