GALAPAGOS MARLIN FISHING REPORT.

San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands.

Thanks to Peter Santini we have a March 5, 2013 report:

Flat calm seas onboard the Vertigo with Peter Santini, Andy Locacsio and Tarin Keith. They fished near 0-30 bank and saw a tailing blue marlin that did not eat and a striped marlin that was raised but did not bite. Late afternoon a black estimated around 600 ate a white and red Iland express. The fish was caught and released by Lady angler Tarin Keith in approximately 45 minutes.

The striped marlin have not shown up in their legendary number which has lead the fleet to look around deep drops the blue marlin hangouts. The fishing this year is paying off with more blues and black raised on average than previous years.

March 11, 2013 A last minute charter by Micah Elder went onboard the Big Fish to a mound from Rosa Blanca know as La Entrada. Captain Fernando Yepez reported choppy seas with 78.2 F water temperature. They fished and raised 9 striped marlin with 5 bites and 1 release as guests prefered to hook their own fish with spinning rods and pitch baits with circle hooks.

If you are looking to target any type of Pacific marlin or possibly all 3 in one day then Galapagos should be next on your list! ecuagringo.com is also in spanish.
