Team Tex-Mex on Mazanillo,MX National Tournament FEBRUARY 2013
Manzanillo,MX- January was a very good fishing month for Manzanillo, MX. a lot of sails, bunch of dorados, some Blue marlin and a lot of small Stripped marlin.
Usually February is a very tough month for Manzanillo a lot of wind and rough seas! But this year it's was so calm and very good for Blue Marlin.
Manzanillo celebrate his second biggest tournament of the year on this month. It has been increasing in Cash prizes and jackpots. So Team tex-mex decided to enter on this tournament in a Super Panga called: Joker with Capt. Ricky Michel one of the best in Manzanillo.
The first day was calm seas and low wind we started putting the spread on 10 miles offshore, the water was blue, 80-82 F and a lot of bait. 20 minutes later a double of sailfish appeared on our spread but we missed. We were checking the baits after the double we were doing a couple of circles on the zone and a blue marlin got our Long Rigger. it was 9:00 AM, it was the perfect start for us we were the first Marlin Report on the radio. Everyone was shocked. After 1 hour fight the marlin was done. We end the day just with the blue marlin but it was below the limit weighted.
The second and last day, it was horrible for us no strikes nothing!!!! We end the tournament out of rank The Blue Marlin was 5 pounds below limit, if the marlin was on the limit we were ended on Top 5 ranked with a very good jackpot prize.
February was very good month: Fair Dorado, A lot of Sails, A lot of Blue Marlin and stripped.
