Hey folks, I am leading a group of over 30 seasoned anglers who have fished some of the best fishing grounds on their next fishing excursion. I am giving some thought to the Dominican Republic. Anyone fish for the big billfish, marlin or sails there? we are looking at Punta Cana. Anyone have any awesome fishing experiences in the Caymans? Bermuda? St Thomas USVI? or Puerto Rico? The others are just other ideas but the DR is my first choice. Thanks all
I have chartered a few times in the DR. I highly suggest u do some research. It is a beautiful place, Punta Cana, but remember your dealing with a 3rd world country. Some of the offshore boats were scary to say the least and their tackle held a lot to be desired. It could be real tough to find enough quality boats to handle that many people. Maybe things have changed since I was last there about 6 years ago. Once again, do your research and don't rely on the pics u might see.
You can contact Tim Richardson, who is well known for his charter operation in Australia. During the offseason down under he runs a 61 Garlington out of Cap Cana. He has been tearing it up the past couple of months in the DR and will be there through the summer. You can reach him at email@example.com I am sure he will be happy to help you out.
