Heard that the grass was coming back in the Grant area. No nice leafy grass found, but the mat grass is getting to be a little more prevalent. First stop of the day was a washed out spoil island. Another rumor had Pompano in the area, none. This stop was pure Puffer City with a side dressing of Ladies and Blues. Onward for further exploring. Into an area with canals, nothing but short Trout and Ladies. Back out and around the corned into the muck and mat grass. Mouse and Rat time, a 12 and a 16 inch Red. At the back end lost a Silver Prince and missed a second one. Onto the long run South, ran across another area that was supposed to have Pompano. No skips, guess that I missed it. This area still looks like a desert. Ran back to the Eastern shore to fish a few cuts. Ran over a Trout in the 8 to 10 pound range as I was drifting out of one area. Another cut cost me another Flat Rap. A Shark hit hard and fast. Did not break the drag loose, nice clean cut. Managed to land one 16 inch Trout. Had another ten that were all in the 12 to 14 inch range. Next week it will be back to familiar territory.
