The fluke fishing slowed down a little this week, but it probably wasnít the fishes fault as we had some breeze all week except for Friday, and even then there was a bit of a heave on. Whereas early in the week practically all of the fishing was down on the south side off of Ditch Plains, by the weekend there were fish at the elbow as well. You still have to catch about five shorts to every keeper.
Striped bass are in solidly now and a couple of boats that concentrated on them reported catching their limits. You can find them in just about any of the rips.
Now we know what Salivarís is going to be. The folks from Westlake had their lease up, so instead of renewing, they are taking over the place. Thatís good news, because many of us were concerned that it might have been taken over by a Yuppie type group. Now itís going to be a Montauk place. Right now they are going nuts rebuilding the place, but thereís a lot to do.
