Default Tropic Star Lodge Panama

Tropic Star normally books up for the winter season a year or so in advance, but this season there have been occasional cancellations. If you would like to fish at the world's premier fishing lodge during it's peak season, give me a call.

I agree with Gene. We love the place. The bite has changed a bit over the last year compared to prior years but the winter bite still appears to be the best for black and blue marlin. I believe February was a bit better than January last year. They actually had a very good September run on black marlin as well. I monitored the names posted weekly and it appears that the place is not at capacity much of the year as it had been previously. Fewer blacks are over Zane Grey Reef and more are nearer to shore for sight casting. Of course there are too many sails. Lots of big tuna and roosterfish. We fish about the globe and this is the most user friendly, full service place you will find. It is costly but you get your monies worth. I studied the historical monthly bite for two years before going and broke down the catches (and marlin hooked and lost) by week per each month. It paid off with a wonderful bite for the first week of July with 3 black marlin in 3 hours on the second day. The best mate in the world is there and his name is Gilberto Cicuada and the top world wide black marlin captain for 2008, recognized by IGFA, was our captain. If you go carry Frogg Toggs as it rains a lot. I would go just to fraternize; the fishing is the bonus. Tight lines,
Doc
