Default 2001 Evinrude 250 DFI

I want to know if any dealers have a 2001 Evinrude 250 DFI engine for sale. How do these engines perform?

Default Evinrude 250

I am not a dealer, but I have a pair Of 2001 Evinrude 250's for sale. They have 90 hours on them and I just had the 100hr service completed. The computers were changed in 2002 to the newer type. They are under factory warranty until Feb '05 and are still eligable for a 3 year extended warranty. they are great motors. I am in FL and will let you "test" them if you would like. Asking $15,000 for the pair. I want to upgrade to new Evinrudes before the warranty expires.

Dear Rick,

I just saw a 2004 posting regarding your 2001 Evinrude 250s, and was wondering if you could let me know abou the computer swap you made in 2002. What was the problem with the original units, and what improvement was made with the new ones?

Thanks for this information. I am on the verge of purchasing a 2001 250 single for my Mako 224, and would like to understand this issue better.

Thanks!
