twin vee
I got this from another site. I have a 26 cc loaded. Awesome boat. Its what I wanted, BUT........I feel I paid way too much for what it is. Kick my self for doing so, but I love going out 40 miles in a nice dry ride and only consume 40 gal. of fuel. (2mpg). Read on...Model: 26 weekender
Cockpit: Huge cockpit, very good visibility, gunnels are very very low to be a good fishing boat. It does perform the job of a dive boat extremely well. A
Cabin: The cabin is cramped and has a plastic freshwater "manual pump" sink. A Porta potty is also there but will never be used. The cabin is not for sleeping, unless desperate and the climate is comfortable. c
Construction: I feel the hull is very well built but the overall quality is quite poor. For instance; cheap plastic covering on ALL hatches, many of which I put my foot through (150 lbs, 5'9"), the console and bait well are all screwed into the hull (just poor boat building) all around cheap components (bilges, very very wet baitwell, poor wiring.....) B (mainly for the hull)
Handling: With twin 115 four stroke suzukis top speed is about 31 knots. Certainly shines in waves below five feet. Not the fastest boat in the water but try to find a better riding boat for the money would be impossible. Only rare pounding and you can usually avoid it by trimming. She is very sea worthy and we've taken her to bimini from the lower keys. A very good sea boat. Just those stupid low gunnels limit this as a great fishing boat in all weather. She is also a very dry boat with an occasional sneeze. You will want the half tower and enclosure as it makes the boat a very good rough water boat. A-
Engine Room: Twin four stroke 115 suzukis are under powered but get over 2 miles a gallon at 22 knots in four foot seas. I would have preferred twin 130's. A
General Comments: If you are a diver or an occasional fisherman then you will love the ride and handling of the boat. You definately want to be a handy man though. By this I mean, proficient at wiring and exchanging bilge pumps and what not. That is the hastle of the boat they overprice the boat for the amount of cheap materials they use. It get annoying after the 15th latch breaks and the company insists that the latches are good. Its a cheap boat, if you get it for a cheap price you'll enjoy it.
