Default Bass Tracker 175 Alum and Salt

I am considering buying a Bass Tracker PT 175 aluminum. I will be using this mostly in brackish and salt water in the rivers of South Carolina. It will be trailered. How do you think the aluminum will hold up ?

Default bass tracker

I wouldn't be worried about the aluminum, it has been used in the pacific northwest for years ... wouldn't run it into an oyster bar though, a fishing buddy of mine lost an aluminum boat that way ... oysters pealed in it open like a can ... the biggest issue you will have will be carpet and wiring ... niether hold up to saltwater ... wouldn't recommend a bass tracker they are designed for freshwater and I doubt the wiring would hold up ... Duracraft makes a line of aluminum bay boats for saltwater that a vinyl lined inside instead of carpet .. will work better .. marsh mud wouldn't come out of carpet well .. check the thickness of the aluminum and buy the heaviest gauge you can afford. I've got a Grumman that is the near twin of yours. Great boat.
