I just bought a proline 2950 new last year. The boat was bought off the lot as a leftover 2000 model therefore, got a good price. However, am having real quality issues with the boat..with leaks, engine windows etc.. does anyone else have similar issues with proline. I though I bought a quality boat with Proline.

My '97 223 Walk Around leaked from every hatch and port. It even leaked where the bracket was attached and almost sunk at the dock the first day in the water. within 4 years I had to replace the interior because the headliner fell apart.

I HAB A 2950. LEAKS! IT ALWAYS HAD WATER IN THE BILGE. AND DUE TO THE CONFIGURATION OF THE BOTTOM EVEN THREE BILGE PUMPS COULD NOT EVER GET IT DRY. IT THANKFULLY FINALLY SUNK IN THE SLIP.

Hey Johnnie G, what year was your 2950, and was it in salt water ? And what "bracket" are you talking about ?

I've heard many more "OK" comments on Proline than negatives, but yours is the worst one I've read so I'm skeptical if it can be extrapolated to the entire brand.

We're looking at a 1994 2950, fresh water only for $30-35k range. We are choosing this over an $80-110k Boston Whaler 28" conquest or 29" Shamrock Walkaround. We expect there to be more ocassional maintenance problems with the Proline here and there, but as long as it's got two Merc 5.7EFI inboards, we won't get stranded (those are good engines too) and even with your comment, the odds of the boat sinking are incredibly low - particularly in fresh water, "low seas" Great Lakes; so we're thinking with a little more TLC, we'll take a few more lumps and save the $70k or more. Any other feedback or thoughts would be appreciated.

im in the middle of buying a 2000 2950 proline.i herd nothing but good things about this boat and even fished on one. i say go for it boys its worth the money !!

They are great boats buy one now they will just go up in price John is full of cow manure id say!

HELL sounds like John is a dam idiot for letting the boat sink to me. They come with a 10 year warranty he should have taken it to the shope if it was leakin you know what they say "no brains no headaches!!!!"

im now in my 3 season with this boat, however i had problems with the motors here and there but overall still a great boat!!!!!!!

i am on my second 2950, 1996 with twin 5.7s and 1998 with twin optis 225. the boat is overall an excellent fishing machine and is priced very competitive in the secondary market. the boat does however leak somewhat and there is always water in bilge on both models. overall, you cant find another boat mold witht the width and performace and speed from 450hp that competes. i am very satisfied.

I am very pleased with my 1999 PL 2950. Engines are (2)2004 Honda 225's.
It sits a bit low it the stern when fully loaded w/ fuel & water, however I still get excellent performance, reasonable fuel economy, and a dry ride. I did have some water leaking in from the portlights which was easily fixed. The boat is in saltwater full time in So. Cal.
